EHS Tech/Permit Writer

Position Summary

The EHS Technician / Permit Writer has the responsibility for all field aspects of the environmental, health, and safety program and permit writing as it relates to maintenance and operational safety. In partnership with and support of other departments this role is responsible for coordinating, implementing, executing, and maintaining a proactive plant specific EHS program as directed by the business, government and regulatory agency requirements, and manufacturing best practices.
The EHS Tech / Permit Writer is expected to participate in site continuous improvement efforts and to lead, guide, coach, and hold employees and contractors accountable for safe work practices.

Essential Job Functions

• Ensures the implementation of a detailed, task level, daily environmental, safety and industrial hygiene program.
• Implements change to improve operating discipline.
• Acts as the Plant resource for related environmental information on procedures guidelines and standards.
• Coach teams and individuals on environmental related tasks and activities.
• Assists in development and achieving area or plant environmental goals.
• Ensures tasks related to compliance are completed accurately in a timely manner.
• Performs and coordinates the environmental, safety and industrial hygiene monitoring, data collection, analysis, and reporting for the plant.
• Coordinates the schedules for audits in environmental, health and safety, and industrial hygiene areas.
• Conducts and documents investigations of incidents and ensures follow up actions are completed.
• Make recommendations for change to prevent reoccurrence of issues that have been addressed.
• Other duties that may be requested by TSRC Management.

Experience Requirement

Three (3) to five (5) years of work experience

Education Requirement

College Degree or High School Diploma

 This position requires an employee to be in an office environment as well as exposed to some outside elements, process, and warehouse environment.
 The employee must be able to wear PPE required by the location.
 General office noise may be experienced and louder sounds and vibrations when outside.
 The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
